Last year was my first absense from the IMS in years. I just assumed that the NEC was a much better show, because Triumph was still participating in it.

With this announcement, bikers in the UK are responding in a way similar to how many opinions are about the IMS - That's it's boring and used to move inventory that no one wants.

One year, there was a Sony Playstation trailer loaded with working consoles that were available to play on. It didn't attract a significant crowd, but the consoles were being used practically the entire time.

That sort of added activity is probably what is missing from these Motorcycle Shows. Right or Wrong, riders are bored with going to a show and looking at bikes - and nothing else.

I've never been to the IMS but would probably enjoy just looking at the bikes. Hell I go to the local dealer once a week to look at the same 'ol bikes. Prolly for the wife and kid it would be nice to have something else to do.

The Barber museum is one of the coolest places on earth IMHO, I'd ride down there again just to see that never mind the racing.
