I like these "cafe racer" style bikes. These are race oriented, and fun to ride for short distances. Sort of a mini Thruxton style.
What I don't get - and I'm not judging... just sayin' - is the "Retro" people who get attached to these things. Rockers, Mods. Studded leather jackets, pompadours, Rockabilly music, sideburns...
Seems to me that folks who get fanatically hung up in "nostalgia", and a unhealthy hankerin' for the past, usually don't have a whole lot going for them in the present, or near future.

Just an observation.
The "good ol' days" were great if you liked oil leaks, fuel leaks, no-starts, headlamps that suddenly go out (Lucas!), scary tire technology, etc. Is there a tie-in or advantage to the now... and to the future with this genre? Dunno.
At any rate, these cafe racer bikes are cool, and the vintage racing scene keeps guys (and gals!) active in a competitive and fun sport.
It's great to see the old bikes well maintained and in pristine condition, it keeps the heritage alive, and preserves some history for us.
Maybe that holds true as well for the folks that 'dress up' and adjust their lifestyles to yesteryear? Whatever. Maybe they are just havin' some fun. I'm puzzled, as I have been to some Mods/Rockers gatherings recently, and some of the folks take it real... serious!
