Looks like yet another entry into the Weekend Warrior / Flashback to the 60's/70's, imitation Harley clone cruiser to me.

Plenty of these on the market already, and the Triumph Thunderbird looks to be the one holding the bar right now.

Honda currently makes the best racebikes, and the best (most practical?) street/superbikes around. Stick to what you do best, and do it better than anyone else, sez me.

Dem weekend warriors are going to fade into the sunset soon, and so will archaic bike designs such as this...

The rear fender does have that Bonnie-look to it, but also looks like a Thunderbird (not the cruiser version).

Maybe that is what Honda is thinking as well ...

Thats not the best pic. Think it is more of a sporty standard. I like the retro look with the added power makes it even more desirable more on line with the Ducati sport classics. Here is another link with different looks.

The Prophet

Reversing (adjusting!) my opinion, I guess I'd need to see it in person. Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha all make fantastic race and sport/street bikes, absolutely no doubt, but IMHO fail to create the "character" required to mimic the original feel and attitude of a nostalgia based bike design. Triumph, by the way, is no better. Is this symptomatic of the "you can't go home again" adage?

Note all the HD cruiser clones that look... "sorta" like an old semi-chopper, but there always seems to be a "cartoonish" feel, as if the artist/designer were drawing a characature of a bike Vs the real McCoy.

Certainly the Asian offers are vastly better reliability wise, and vastly more advanced from a technology standpoint, but the average rider of these style bikes I'll opine is much more concerned with "looks" than performance. Were it "performance" he was looking for, a different style bike altogether would be considered.

Let's have a look, a feel, and a test ride at the dealers.

It may be that Honda isn't convinced that it will sell the base version to justify the costs of overseas distribution; as well as the higher-end variants that would potentially sit alongside it on showroom floors.
