Re: The Honda Cub returns in Japan

These are great bikes, of course, but I'd opine that you almost have to live in a heavy traffic, urban setting these days to appreciate one.

I cannot picture trying to ride one of these on a modern - "get outta my way or die!" - freeway or major busy street, or near any shopping malls, major thoroughfares, etc. You would get run over almost immediately.

On the other hand, to maneuvor this down a endlessly traffic clogged urban street might be an advantage. One up on a push-bike?

If I had a 'downtown' job, and lived in the inner city, I might consider one... but thank goodness I don't!!!!

This could also be a good pit bike, or a farm bike as well.

Re: The Honda Cub returns in Japan

Fayetteville isn't a large city, but suffers from some degree of the "crammed" mentality. Our geographic footprint isn't large, but diverse when it comes to speeds driven by motorists.

We see a lot of scooters, but Vespa or Cub riders can't ride the entire city safely.

Some of the riders are former auto drivers who lost their license (usually to DWI related events), and the other group would be students. No one is putting the scooter to use in the way riders in other countries do.
