You'd think that people in this country would embrace scooters as a 'green' alternative. Dealers that sell scooters have them sit in showrooms and collect dust...something I don't understand.

Fuel prices will surely rise again so a scooter is a great investment against that.

The former Triumph Dealer in Little Rock made news when he started selling large numbers of Piaggio and Vespa Scooters to the locals. Then he sold the business to a BMW Dealer.

A dealer here in NW Arkansas picked up Piaggio scooters as well, and was forced into Aprilia and Moto-Guzzi as a result. You can tell it's forced by their demeanor when asked about the bikes. They've got no excitement for them.

Now that the weather is warming up, maybe the enthusiasm will return. Here in Fayetteville many students ride around on them.

I find the Piaggio MP3 to be intriguing. What a neat little package. It's like the Bombadier offering but at a reasonable price for around town trips.

I want one.
