Greetings fellow Honda lovers, I live a stones throw (15 miles) from the Beartooth Range of the Northern Rockies.
in the State of Montana, which is just below Alberta, Canada. Around the first of May 2008 I purchased a leftover 2007 Honda VLX 600 Deluxe from the local Honda Stealer. Since then I have put over 12,500 miles on her odometer, so it's obvious that I fell for her hard. I love the fairly light weight(500lbs w/ all the options) and her great lines, I get compliments every day. Another nice thing is that a 100MPH capable bike gets' 55 MPG @ 65MPH, and closer to 60-65 MPG @ 55MPH, so it's cheap to enjoy when gas was over $4 a gallon last summer. I've just finished painting the engines fins with 1000 deg Fireplace Black paint. and with the chrome valve covers, and side cases, and exaust pipes, she really looks great! Maybe it's just me, but a motorcycle engine that has fins, even if it is water cooled, has always been, and should always be Black. Honda put the fins on for looks according to their literature, they should have investigated what it should have looked like. I have also removed the stock airbox so the engine can breath cool air with a ram effect, instead of sucking hot air from behind the carburetor, and have removed the baffles from the pipes, which together, have given it 15 MPH more top end. Now after i get all the parts back on from the painting, I'm going to rejet the carb, then she will be the bike that I want.
