Tires for my VFR ?

I'm researching tire options for my VFR. Already got some feedback from my brother (Pirelli Diablo Corsicas), but I'm thinking about going for more of the "touring" type of tire than a sport one. Even though I tend to be a hard-charger type of guy.

Re: Tires for my VFR ?

I love the sticky tires, but I got tired of replacing my rear every 3500 miles. I had been running Michelin Pilot Powers and they worked great. Last time however I switched to the Michelin Pilot Roads, it has performed well and gives better wet grip. I run Metzler Roadtech Z6's on the SV that I like too.

I wouldn't take these tires to the track, but for back road hill carving they are fine. The sport touring tires of today are great give good grip and have long life best of both worlds IMO.

Tire preferences, like most anything to do with bikes from a technical level, are extremely personal. In that I mean it depends entirely on YOUR riding style, and YOUR budget. How often (in miles) you ride also plays a part, as tires should be replaced every 4-5 years anyway, or when the tread depth reaches it's limit. What are you looking for?...Longer tread life?Better cornering?Super adhesive grip?Price?Appearance?Brand Loyalty?I prefer Metzler products for the most part, but I favor twisties always over flat slab riding. If the ride isn't >75% curves and

Something gpone wrong here, I can't post full replies...?????Tire preferences, like most anything to do with bikes from a technical level, are extremely personal. In that I mean it depends entirely on YOUR riding style, and YOUR budget. Kind of like a "who, what, where, when and why, and to what extent" you ride question. How often (in miles) you ride also plays a part, as tires should be replaced every 4-5 years anyway, or when the tread depth reaches it's low limit. What are you looking for?...Longer tread life?Better cornering?Super adhesive grip?Price?Appearance?Brand Loyalty?I prefer Metzler products for the most part, but I favor twisties always over flat slab riding. Re: Tires for my VFR ?

I noticed the other day when I used a degree symbol that everything following it would not post.

I just noticesd that my "reply to thread" screen is black today - as is usual. Yesterday it was white???? Weird.

I guess my reply, which perhaps was one of the most insightful, intelligent, thought provoking and revolutionary composites of wordage known to modern man, will, alas, never be seen...

Re: Tires for my VFR ?

My Apologies for the difficulty. The problem was in my server, I've modified the configuration.

Degree Symbol ( ° )

Percentage Sign ( % )

Should be working better now
