I was just thinkin' that the Thunderbird, with it's "Cruiser" attitude, will generate a whole new army of wanna-be, poser virtual "tough guys" on the various internet forums. This should be really hilarious!
Agree, the Bonneville definitely has an iconic, historic feel to it - with a long range pedigree - and as Speed said on an earlier thread, a blank canvas with which to express oneself. No blandness at all there.
The Rocket is definitely not bland, not with that engine, those pipes, that tank, those wheels and so on. Not a bike that people ignore at the stoplite.
Similar comments can be put forward for the Speed range, Tiger, Sprint, Daytona, and so on.
For my taste, only the America failed to stir anything in me, looks like a zillion other cruisers, no offense whatsoever meant, but there you have it. Sincere apologies in advance.
In the end, it's really a matter of personal choice, and individual taste. Whatever 'floats yer boat'.
One wonders... with the Thunderbird, will we begin to see Triumph ads with doo-ragged, leather clad, skull and crossbones tatted, unsmiling, indentically dressed "rebels" looking mean, and touting "freedom of the open road" credo's? Will current Harley weekend tuffs jump ship due to economic restraints? Stay tuned...
