Re: Damn!

The Ergos are a concern. It isn't as comfortable as a BMC Bobber on the showroom floor, but it's in a similar price range.

A BMC Bobber (another one of my cruiser lusts) retails for $17k on the floor, and I imagine that I could get a much better deal. The only concerns are mechanic support, which shouldn't be an impossible issue to overcome but there are no BMC dealers in my area so it's a matter of who would work on an S&S engine.

So if I were limited either way to a short-riding-cruiser that I'd never be able to safely ride like my VFR (aggressively) then the BMC would be the better choice because they are simpler well-made bikes.

Still, the blonde model gets me going

Re: Damn!

Re: V-Rod Ergonomics.

Could it be as simple as a combination change to the forward high footpegs, the handlebar position, and the seat position / angle?

Footpeg relocation rearward to a more realistic riding position seems simple and practical enough to do.

A different set of handlebars, closer to the rider and at the correct height/angle - this should be easy enough to find.

The seat could be changed / foam redone by an upholsterer, and size/shape/angle/height all reconsidered for the best long(er) range comfort. Has Corbin done a seat yet for the V-Rod?

I would guess you could pull off all three for say <$1000 bucks? Now you've created an interesting, comfortable, very unique bike - refreshingly different from the 10 zillion "look-alike" harley clone cruisers out there!

Maybe take some photos, write up the spec's, and send 'em to Wille Davidson!!

I say... go for it!

Again to Sidecar - sorry if I unintentionally offended. In 39 years of riding, I've made it a point to never, ever make a negative comment about another riders personal bike. I don't do that, as I consider it low class, and a sign of a newbie - non-enthusiast.

Be it a tourer, a scooter, or a Whizzer - all are bikes, and all are wonderful and of great interest to me. Please reconsider your viewpoint of what I wrote.
It would take a lot more than that to offend me. The Rock isn't a beauty queen by a long shot. It's a mlove/hate relationship anyway. You either adore the looks or you you say that's butt ugly, whereas the Bonnie appeals to everyone. It's not a styling departure like the VRod or the Rocket ot the Max or the 109 is......Different strokes for different folks.

The price of admission is what turns me off. You gotta have steel hinges on your wallet to afford one (any big now). I left my hinges in the stock market along with my pension.......

Re: Damn!

I'd have to look again, but remembered a lot of lower-exhaust stuff on the bike. It was impressive, but gave it just enough attention to feel comfortable that I wouldn't scrape it. If the pegs could be moved, my initial guess is that they would make good sparks
