07 black and silver

I have one of last of the fast, that is if you can call 37hp fast. The origional owner tipped over on it several times and grew scared of it and sold it. The bike only had 525 miles on it and he had put on happy trails panniers, a corbin seat, 2" lowering links and center stand. I puchased in in may and since then have put 5000 miles on it. Farkles that i installed were the radiator/high-way pegs the dohicky from eagle mike and the pvc upgrade. I have also raised it some by replacing the 2" links with some k10's from hp. The bike is now riding on avon distensas and that was an improvement. It is my daily comuter as i usually get 56mpg out of the bike.

Re: 07 black and silver

You are as bad as I am....A Rocket to ride and a KLR to be cheap.

They are both great bikes though.

yep...the klr does cheap really well, but it is not good for a 300+ mile ride

Re: 07 black and silver

Looks as thought I'll be finishing out the season on the KLR. The Rocket has the input TDU bearing out.

I'm going to do the 685 mod this winter to 2 bikes. Mine and KLR Dave's. That will eliminate the bug fogging, minimize the vibration and give a bit more ooomph.

Re: 07 black and silver

what is the 685 mod?? mine does not fog but it would be nice to smooth out the brigs and stratton.

** i went to klr650.net and looked it up...sounds like something i would like to do. just need someplace to do the machine work.

Good looking sidecar rig!!

...236 bucks including head gasket. Cary will do the machine work for 50 bucks. I'll probably do all the machining myself....I own a machine shop so it's no problem. Straightforward bore and hone job. You can do the 705 kit, flow the head an bump the compression and she will really wake up...rear wheel wheelie wake up.......

Of course the gas mileage will go straight in the shitter though.
