2009 Kawasaki KLX250S

Getting Dirty Without Going BrokeMy eyes feel like raisins. My lips have become pork rinds. I'm blasting across the sand-drenched, boulder-strewn Funeral Mountains of Death Valley on Kawasaki's fully revised KLX250S, and the one thing I can say for sure is: If this bike weren't so easy to ride, I'd have crashed hours ago.

The KLX 250 is the little brother of the popular KLR650 minus the liquid cooling. It shold be as bulletproof as the 650 and it has an extra gear, something the 650 needs.

I'd say the 275 pound dry weight is a bit optimistic. It's not a KTM but it's a lot cheaper than the KTM so when you do drop it and bung it up, you won't feel so bad.

If the aftermarket acessory manufacturers embrace the KLX like they have the KLR, you soon should be able to personalize the bike with a multitude of acessories.
