Great read, but it doesn't get too interesting (IMHO) for the average everyday rider until about Pt.5.
My favorite quote from this series...
"Don't spend your money on engine work or fancy bodywork. The motorcycles that are in showrooms today are faster than 99% of the people riding them," said Unger, ..." How very true. I am a firm believer that the best say $300 Bucks you can spend in making you and your bike faster is a trackday intro course, then an advanced course after a few effective practice sessions. All that potential power is useless unless it can be properly applied to the asphalt. Same goes for paper Dyno sheets. Potential energy, until it can actually be transfered effectively to the pavement. Anyway, give it a read... good stuff.
