Actually, I was refering to the sensitive attitudes (and need for adjustment) of the minority of "Cyber" mechanics who go berserk when and if anyone disagrees with their opinions on general bike maintenance or mod's.
Cameron was refering specifically to Ducati enthusiasts, who rally against any changes to the status quo, and rant about keeping the technology and appearance "as is". I thought the statement had a broader usage.
None of this type on this forum thus far - thank goodness - so in that perspective it's more of a preventive maintenance task.
In the end, it's about continual improvement and embracing rather than resisting the ever-forward advances in technology. So many on these bike forums get hung-up on a certain modification or bolt on, and are resistant to anything other than that particular mod. Point was: Keep and open mind, be flexible, and seek to comprehend fully the ever increasing new technologies before making the choice to condemn.
The same might be said about new bike designs, appearances, technological directions (going green?), and company business strategies.
All that said, granted, the new Triumph Bonneville is the only decent bike ever made, and all others pale horribly in comparison, but the fierce competition for second place continues, so we need to give others a sporting chance. :suspicious:
