A post on one of my other sites included a record number of bikes. I'll admit that it was busy, but was that because the event was more "spread out" this year?

I also noticed that there was a greater diversity of motorcycle brands. Harleys were everywhere, but there were a lot of sportbikes. Noticed several Honda Shadow cruisers.

Re: Bikes, Blues, and BBQ - 10th Year Anniversary

It was packed at the trackcenter as well as Dickson. I spent all Saturday morning taking demo rides. Love the demo trucks very rarely get a chance to ride different bikes from different manufactures back to back. Rode down to Dickson St later and it was almost impossible to walk down the street.

Highlight of the demos was the Kawasaki ZX14 and the Kawasaki Concourse, if I was in the market for a Sport touring bike the Concourse would be at the top of the list. They both share the 1400cc engine which is a gem.

Biggest disappointment was the R1 after all the hype I was excited to finally get a chance to ride one. Glad I bought a CBR.

Didn't feel like it had the grunt down low like the CBR, fueling at low rpms is better on the Honda and the ergos are better on the CBR. Now ergos are a matter of taste perhaps because the CBR is a small bike almost as small as a 600. I like that being fairly close to the ground myself so a taller rider might find the CBR cramped.

The build quality was very good on the R1 though and the motor sounds sweet.

Makes me feel like I need to demo the R1 sometime

Regarding BBB attendance, it appears that the word is that it increased - something that I didn't expect in light of our economic times.

Didn't get a T-Shirt though. They either had a razorback on them, or looked like a rubber-stamp rally shirt with the letters changed.
