2009 Buell 1125R - $6990.00

I'm sitting at my local Harley Dealer's WiFi-enabled Lounge typing this on my laptop; trying to get a reasonable insurance quote on a Buell 1125R.

Progressive doesn't rate the 1125R that well. Even though they added two additional discounts on my policy during my conversation (on my VFR) it was still higher than the Dairyland quote from earlier this year.

It doesn't appear that Dairyland works on Saturdays

Just buy it and sweat the insurance later.

If the economy really tanks and you get unemployed, I'll buy your FJ and you can keep the Buell.

Problem is, with a low ball price like that, it won't ever be worth squat used. Plan or keeping it longer that Social Security.

Look at it thiw way, I'm retired and have 3 going on 4 bikes. Anything is possible.

Sportbike insurance is similar to the stock market. Things can go along nice and smooth for a while, then you get a virtual back-stabbing when your insurance carrier decides that a particular model is linked to too many claims

I did talk to H-D before leaving and they spoke about the low degree of effort required to service a Buell. Erik apparently incorporated technology that limited the number of service intervals, and the amount of time needed to complete the job.

To give you an idea, the modified 2008 1125R that I'm wanting has more low-end torque than any Triumph I've ever owned or ridden. The only comparable bike would a Ducati, but only the superbikes could keep up with this Buell - because the 1125R can keep pulling.

To your point, it is highly doubtful that I'll ever be able to sell the Buell if I bought it.
