Sportbike insurance is similar to the stock market. Things can go along nice and smooth for a while, then you get a virtual back-stabbing when your insurance carrier decides that a particular model is linked to too many claims
I did talk to H-D before leaving and they spoke about the low degree of effort required to service a Buell. Erik apparently incorporated technology that limited the number of service intervals, and the amount of time needed to complete the job.
To give you an idea, the modified 2008 1125R that I'm wanting has more low-end torque than any Triumph I've ever owned or ridden. The only comparable bike would a Ducati, but only the superbikes could keep up with this Buell - because the 1125R can keep pulling.
To your point, it is highly doubtful that I'll ever be able to sell the Buell if I bought it.
