Hey guys,
I'm sitting in the O'Hare Airport United Airlines lounge, waiting for my flight to Japan. By the way, TSA procedures aren't any different here than say 4 months ago - no "scanners" or pat downs. I love the media!
Anyway, I bought a book last night at Borders to read on the plane - "Long Way "Round" by Ewan MacGregor. I read a little last night, looks like it's going to be excellent.
Here's a Website:
::..:. Long Way Round .:..::
This guy has done a lot to raise the public perspective of motorcycling, and it's refreshing to read a book by someone who is obviously a huge enthusiast, and loves the activity for what it is, vs. getting involved to "be cool", or other less comprehensible (nor attractive) reasons.
For every notch that utter crap like "Sons of Anarchy" briings motorcycling down into the pits, let's hope there are more folks like this to help the image climb out of the gutter. Kind of a ying/yang balance thing.
This guy strikes me as an avid motorcyclist that just happens to do some acting in his off time, Vs. the other way 'round. Plus, anyone who gets to co-star with the likes of Nicole Kidman or Ashley Judd is doing pretty well in my book.
Anyway, so far an excellent read, it's all about the journey, and about the in's and out's of preparing a bike for the journey, and ... why, so it keeps gettin' better.

Ride Safe!
Bob
