Happy valentine's day

A reminder... don't be a cheap-skate. Get out there and buy something great, and more importantly - meaningful - for your best "Other". (Is that P.C.?)

Dinner?

Card?

Movies?

Flowers?

Candy / chocolates?

Something original for once?

Have a great day.

I was subtle this year. A little candy, a nice card, and an iTunes card. She got me a music CD and card.

The day also happens to be either the day or the eve of the new Chinese year, folks, "the year of the tiger".

Yet another event to celebrate

Re: Happy valentine's day

I took the Mrs. to the local movie theater to see "Valentine's Day".

100% "chick flick". I struggled very valiantly to remain awake, but endured and made it through. The wife, on the other hand, thought it was absolutely great.

Dinner afterwards at one of the few surviving restaurants 'round here with actual white tablecloths, and waitresses that don't crouch down next to the table and address you as "you guys".

A Hallmark card - are these getting mushier and mushier as time goes on, or am I heading in the opposite direction?

Some nice Flowers to boot, so I hit all the traditional points.

We've been happily married for 34 years, 35th coming this October, so one of us is doing something right!

Ride Safe!

Sincere congrats to you and yours as well!! It's great, isn't it?

My wife and I met in about 1970 or so at University, when I had a '67 Triumph 500cc that was pretty troublesome, but it got us around. I suspect it was abused pretty hard before I bought it second hand (wish I still had it though!) We used to camp out a lot with the group we hung out with, and we had tons of great times. Campfires, good cheap wine, strumming guitars, etc. Ahhhh... memories.

Anyway, we've been riding partners ever since, and we've been all over the place, although she has never been interested in getting a bike for herself, nor operating any of mine. Strictly a passenger so to speak!

Again, congrats, it's always nice to hear such things, and we wish you many, many more years!!!

Ride safe!

Bob

Re: Happy valentine's day

Thanks mate. I had just crashed my Suzuki two-stroke 500cc (Titan?) back then. A couple of years later, Huong (that's my wife's first name, meaning "perfume" in vietnamese) became my less-than-enthusiastic (in hindsight) pillion until the mid-80's (we had toured the whole Italian peninsula, Corsica, etc. together on my Yamaha 650), when she belatedly confessed to me that she had DETESTED the experience all along.

Have been merrily solo-ing since then
