| Re: Bike Show Today February 19th The show was great. The only complaint would be... no BMW Booth. Too bad, but it also may contribute to their success thus far in late '09, early '10. Expenditure wise I mean.
Harley had by far the largest and most extravagent booth. It was well done. They had a nice new CR1200 on display. Nice bike, but where would you put any luggage, etc., without ruining the lines and function of the bike? Think about it.
Also nice booths by Ducati, Honda, and Yamaha. Suzuki's was a little sparse IMHO.
Indian was there, but not too many takers. Ridiculously expensive, and nothing new, or reasonable to offer, performance wise. $25 bucks for a cheap, 'made in China' ball cap. No thanks, last time I looked in the mirror, I didn't see a fool. Doubt they'll make it.
Tons of vendors, but how much leather can one buy? I vote for we all look for a different material in this new millenium, leather is gettin' old.
What is it that relates skanky, skantily clad, mean lookin' girls to Motorcycles? Anyuway, there were plenty of these acting as models. OK, so I checked 'em out. But the question of the relation still remains...
Some nice custom Bikes, three pics of my favorite custom attached. The guy said he used spray Urethane as a base, then sculpted it to the required shapes, then applied a "secret" plasticised coating to waterproof, add durability, and allow paint. The bike looks like something from outer space, or one of these great Post Apocolypse movies. Very original, and cool.
I also attended a short interview with Peter Egan, my favorite Motorcycle Author. We spoke briefly after the show, and I had my son shoot a pic of us. Great guy, great for the biking world.
Ride Safe!
