A first series, 1969 Benelli "Sei", a 750cc 6-cylinder in its original -and extremely rare- lime green (as opposed to red) livery. Low mileage. Fully restored to "new" condition with pics galore to prove it . French docs. A collectible int'l
car broker (we met at a vintage car show in Barcelona, Spain) did not have it on display but had it on its screen catalogue, amidst AC Cobra's, Ferrari's, Bentley's, etc. I asked for ownership, maintenance and restoration records. All were available and quite credible. The display attendant wanted $18'000 for it, FOB southern France.
Upon getting home, I belatedly realized that the said int'l car brokerage house was incorporated in Geneva, Switzerland, only a few miles away from my flat

. I contacted them. And I got a very polite and... sorry-reading reply in french: the fabulous Benelli had already found a new home, only three days

after being commissioned to the brokerage house in question.
OK. The nostalgia trip is all over and I am done mourning. In a way, says my wife. I "saved" 18'000 bucks
