Something stinks......

I smell a KLR or a RM or even a Honda dual sport in your future. Can't beat any of them plus you can do all the maintenance in your garage or even on the side of the road.

I just met a guy that has over 60K on his KLR with just routine maintenance. He's going for 100.

3 buck oil filters, 12 dollar oil changes and 2 buck spark plugs plus a washable air filter from the factory....Life is good.

Yup I've sat on a few KLR's look at em on fleabay, kinda leaning Zooki DR400s right now. Only problem with the KLR is I have to come completely out of the saddle to get a toe down.

That's a quick and easy fix and you loose no suspension travel. I have the same problem. I'm tall but I have stubby legs....Like a Hippo.

You put on a set of lowering links that take about 10 minutes and raise the front tubes in the triple crowns a corresponding amount. I went 1.5". I like to touch the ground as well.

That was the big detraction for me with the KLR and I almost went the Honda route because of it...but it's an easy, cheap fix. I wonder how the little Orientals ride them at the factory...must have wooden blocks on their shoes.....

The pre-08's have quite a bit of sit in sag as well. The '08's don't and I have an '08 so it got lowered. By the way, I've never had any clearance problem off road in the lowered mode.

I may ride the KLR to the RAA this year. I know you'll be coming so I'll let you ride mine.
