Air Evac Insurance

Does anyone here carry this?

Got to talking this weekend about this particular insurance and it got me to thinking. For the price of a chopper ride which apparently runs around 15k in these parts the $50-$100 a year seems reasonable.

So just wondering who has it are there any recommendations.

Re: Air Evac Insurance

I did a bit of searching via Google and found a couple sites that offer it, but I don't know that much about the coverage. The options I found were for situations where one is greater than 150 miles from home, which seems better suited for someone who is traveling and has a medical emergency. They were more like membership programs than insurance, running closer to $300/year.

How medical insurance companies cover it is usually controversial unless there is good documentation that proves a critical need.

Is there a service provider locally that provides it?

Re: Air Evac Insurance

There are two in the NW Arkansas area. From what I can tell they offer memberships like you said, and if you are a member and use the service they will bill your insurance or medicade the state or wherever that can get the money but you as a member won't have to pay. Since there are different medivacs in this area you may have to become a member of both because depending where you are could make a difference on which one is called to the accident.

I'm still checking it out.
