A few days ago, we had a heated but ultimately revealing discussion about Harley Davidson custom building concepts, and many of us had opposing opinions and perspectives.
Here's an interesting builder:
TC-SPORT - Big Twin Racers
Certainly an "out of the box" approach, and no doubt multitudes ahead of the typical "chopper" builders, of which the genre has over-reached it's "past due" point. Some interesting ideas, and although the price range ($25K to $30K) is "up there", it makes more sense than a $50K chopper for "viewing" only. These bikes you can ride, and certainly "go your own way", to borrow a slogan from a competing manufacturer.
It would be interesting to see this thought provoking direction developed further. Maybe some of the unfortunate bar-pig riders could convert to more realistic and challenging motorcycling designs, and get back on the open road.... and off the barstool.
The use of the HD Motor is obviously questionable, but then again, it's satisfying to see someone making a lateral move, and trying something different and innovative with the outdated iron.
Should (could?) HD have done something like this 5 years ago?
