A must read book...

This title comes out today, November 12th, 2009.

Top Dead Center 2, by Kevin Cameron

If you belong to Borders or Barnes & Noble discount Clubs, you get it for like 15% off.

Excellent, accurate reading, arguably the best technical writer in the business today.

Kevin's "Sportbike Performance Handbook, Vol. II" is also an absolute excellent resource, much better (and correct!) information than as from the ton's of "virtual" mechanics and self appointed psuedo-experts out here in cyberspace! (Don't these guys have jobs?)

It's always fun to tongue-wag, flame, and endlessly debate bizzare opinions and questionable advice on the countless bike-related internet forums, but caveat emptor guys! Alternatively, this guy actually builds racebikes, has a traceable, touchable background and experience, and lives/breathes/hands-on participates in bike racing, and has been doing so successfully since the early '70's. Much of what you learn, and Kevin thoughtfully explains in his outstanding books are a total 180 degrees from what you pick up in these psuedo-tech Forums. Makes for an interesting and valuable knowledge base, and the payback is a hundred fold in making the correct technical decisions.

The original Top Dead Center is also still availble, and obviously is an excellent read as well.

Go for it!

Ride (and read) Safe!

Bob (5 out of 5)
