Low-Cost Hardbags, Trunks...

Here's a site I found with some cheapie hardbags.

MUTAZU Motorcycle Trunks

"Made in China", so you get... what you get, but the prices are super low compared to most offers. The Silver "GA", squarish looking hardbags could be considered for an "off road" Scrambler type application?

Anyway, the prices look interesting. If you "Google" Mutazu, you get links to many Japanese Brand bike sites, with threads from folks who have purchased these. Mostly - if not all - good reviews.

Worth a look?

Ride safe!

I've added the site to the Links.

It actually had a couple selections for my bike. Proper fit is a concern, but the pricing is impressive. I wonder what shipping would include?

Lightbulb Re: Low-Cost Hardbags, Trunks...

Here's another one. Looks like the same hardbags/ Same prices?

Motorcycle Hard Bags, Motorcycle Trunks, Luggage Trunks, Motorcycle Hard Saddlebags (Powered by CubeCart)

Anyway, a1 is where I bought mine. I don't recall the shipping costs as being anything drastic. Delivery was quick, like a few days, California to Illinois. Service and ordering was great - I had a few questions, and there is a telephone number that a actual, real Human answers right away, and the guy was very knowledgable and helpful.

Some points though:

1.) Lightbulbs included (if you get lights) are cheap-o "Made in China" bulbs. The originals lasted about a month (and flickered on/off very often), then I replaced with "Autozone" bulbs, which have lasted 5 months thus far, no problem. Not a biggie, just a buck or so to upgrade.

2.) With the lights, you get only a single filament. This means you need to choose which ONE option you want - tail.. stop... or blinker. One only. I did find a way to combine 'stop and tail', but it takes a few resistors and some splicing / soldering. Manufacturers with basic / minimum common sense would include some lighting options.

3.) Be forewarned that these bags are... small. Measure and visualize carefully so they are proportionate to your bike.

4.) You need to be handy, and a medium level craftsman in order to fabricate / design installation brackets for your bike. Some bikes I'm sure would be easier to deal with than others. In my case, with a Bonneville, I'm 100% convinced that Bonnies were never intended to have bags of any sort on them, therefore it was an excellent challenge to design and devise a means to hang these. I'll post pictures of the results. You can see these bags on my bike in my photo album with the title "Crossroads in Wisconsin". actually, i think there are 2 pics.

Otherwise, the price is great, and they are of good to very good quality IMHO. Enough room for a daytrip, some water bottles, raingear, camera, etc. Finish is excellent. I use them all the time, and give 'em an 8 outa' 10. for finish and price.

Ride safe!
